Kotamobagu: It's culture and natural wealth

On the way from Manado, North Sulawesi provincial capital toward Kotamobagu, we will pass a stretch of mountains and valleys full of trees pineapple.

Lobong village, located about half an hour from downtown Kotamobagu is the producer of pineapples for a long time. Along the way Lobong villages, scenic pineapple stalls selling comes with a variety of other fruit will tempt us to stop and buy. In this place, the price of pineapples is certainly cheaper than the market price.

Beside pineapple, Lobong village, as well as other villages in the region rich in nature of helping others, which is familiar known as 'gotong royong', an Indonesia mutual aid. One example of mutual support demonstrated selfless society, is if there is an accident on the highway of  Lobong, immediately the whole village gathered to help the victims. Unmitigated, given help, they do not pay attention to trouble ahead.

When I passed Lobong highway last night (16/1), a motorist hit by a car. The victim who was helpless appointed jointly by the villagers, was raised to a passing vehicle-arrested by them and together they drove the victim to the hospital. "Because spontaneous, they usually do not think that they do not have any money, so it would be problematic if they later return home to the village," said one witness, a Kotamobagu born but resident in Manado.

Mutual aid and natural resources are day to day life in there. The ease in planting and harvesting seems to live in terms of providing facilities to others. Completing the fertile soil, wildlife richness typical of Sulawesi is also present in this area. You can visit the National Wildlife Areas Nani Wartabone to see one of the world's rarest animals, birds Maleo and other various species. Contact me if your are interested to explore this land.
